Crystals and Reiki

| Originating in Japan, Reiki is an ancient healing practice performed by trained practitioners. The word Reiki comes from “rei” which means universe and “ki” which is our ever present energy / life force around us. Reiki is administered by a healer placing their hands (very light touch) on or over a person with the intent of channeling healing energy from the universe. This universal energy can bring about all kinds of positive and powerful healing and the releasing of pent up negative emotions and fears. |
| Since reiki and crystals are both instrumental in healing, many reiki practitioners are very aware of the integral part that crystals and gemstones can play in reiki healing. |
| The recipient may be sitting up or lying down to receive Reiki. When crystals and gemstones are used, the person receiving the reiki should be lying down so that the crystals can be placed where needed. |
| Most of our visitors know how crystals and gemstones play an important role in the healing of our body. Blockages within any of our chakras (the energy centers) can cause all kinds of illnesses. Crystals can strengthen, align, balance, clear and help release toxins from our chakras. |

| Many reiki practitioners are able to hone in on our imbalances or blockages and instintively know which crystal to use and where to place it. Depending on the chakra that requires work, the appropriate stone will be placed over the area to work its magic. |
| Many reiki practitioners have their favorite crystals they like to work with and that is OK. They have certain crystals that they resonate well with and whose energy resonates well with them. |
| Crystals and gemstones have other applications in reiki other than the placing of them directly on the recipient. |
| Crystals and gemstones are used in preparing the reiki room for healing by removing existing negative energy. |
| Some crystals which are good for clearing are clear quartz, black onyx, hematite and obsidian. |
| Crystals also help protect the healers from absorbing “not so desirable” debris from those they are working on. |
| Great protective stones are Amber, Clear Quartz, Fluorite, Garnet, Malachite, Opal, Pyrite, Ruby and Rutilated Quartz.
