Ammonites
Hardness: 4
Chakras: Root (1st)
Especially beneficial for Aquarius
Ammonites were once cephalopod mollusks that lived in the oceans and seas millions of years ago and are now extinct. Even though their spiral coiled shape resembles the nautilus (members of the cephalopod family that have firm outer shells) or snails, their structure is actually more like an octopus and squid (members of the coleoid family) which have no skeletons.
They are estimated to have first appeared around 300 million years ago until 65.5.million years ago. They were around before dinosaurs ruled the land. Now, that is OLD.
Today, ammonites are fossils now found in marine rocks.
The name “ammonite” is believed to have been coined by Pliny the Elder (23 AD –79 AD, a Roman author, philosopher and an early commander of the Roman Empire. He called these fossilized shells “ammonis cornua” (horns of Ammon) after the Egyptian god Ammon. Ammon was often shown wearing ram’s horns which somewhat resembled the spiral shape of the ammonites.
Ammonites, with their nautilus design, can be beneficial to architects, engineers and those in construction because it provides insight and enables them to see the “whole picture” from start to finish. Many Aquarians are also drawn to this unusual looking member of the fossil family.
Ammonites provide us protection, stability, structure to our life and survival instincts. They discourage sarcastic and acerbic behavior and can turn negative energy into a positive and smooth flowing energy.
Ammonites are associated with giving birth as they can encourage relaxation and remind us to do circular breathing. Can ease depression of re-birthing.
Ammonites are beneficial for our lungs and limbs and repairing genetic dis-orders.
Interesting Tidbits: It is believed that the very first discus used by the ancient Greeks in their Olympics was a fossilized ammonite.

| “Our appearance is kinda different. We were fossilized animals many many years ago. I bet you didn’t know that architects and construction people used Ammonites for incentive and motivation. To think we would be instrumental in the building of a bridge.” |

| “We are the delicate and fragile little darlins of the Ammonite family. We were around 400 million years ago and became extinct with the dinosaurs. We weren’t bothering anybody. Why did somebody have to find us now?” |
