Azurite and Malachite, both copper based minerals, have a similar chemical composition and when they grow together they carry the properties of both minerals. The combination of Azurite and Malachite encourages flexibility and discourages conceit, arrogance and vanity.
Interesting Tidbits: Shortly after azurite is mined, it begins to oxidize due to the presence of moisture in the air. If azurite is exposed to “weathering” for a prolonged period of time, it will turn completely green, becoming malachite. This oxidation process takes place because of it’s high content of copper. It’s the same reason the Statue of Liberty is green. The outer surface of the Statue of Liberty has a copper coating.
