Garnet is from the Latin word “granatum” meaning pomegranate. The color, form and appearance of a Garnet and a pomegranate seed are very similar. Many Garnets are deep red, however they can also be orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, brown, black, pink and clear.
Garnet is the stone of “health” and “commitment. ” These red beauties encourage love, passion, devotion and serenity. Garnets help in situations which seem hopeless, ungratifying and traumatic. Call on these little darlings to get rid of chaos and remove old patterns and ways that no longer serve our best interest.
Garnets remove negative energy from the chakras.
They are also believed to warn us of impending danger.
Some people prefer faceted Garnets while others prefer the round polished pieces. We have both and they are equally beautiful.
Interesting Tidbits: There are 6 types of Garnet, all of them different colors: Almandine, Andradite, Grossular, Rhodolite, Spessartine and Uvarovite. Each type has its own healing properties, however all Garnets represent prosperity and bring enjoyment of worldy pleasures.
