Salt isn’t used only to season food. Salt (rock salt crystals) actually has a beneficial effect by emitting negative ions in the atmosphere.
The air we breathe is comprised of negative ions (beneficial and healthy) and positive ions (pollutants caused by televisions, computers, cigarettes, etc). Negative ions help reduce smog, dust, pollen, odor, animal dander and other contaminants. They also have been known to relieve depression, seasonal allergies, asthma, chronic fatigue and other symptoms.
